'The Help' Wins Big At SAG Awards
Co-stars Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer triumph in actress categories, while 'Artist' star edges out George Clooney for Best Actor.

A surprise win for "The Help" for Best Ensemble capped off a rather predictable night at the SAG Awards on Sunday (January 29). The adaptation of the best-selling novel picked up individual awards for both Octavia Spencer, who won Best Supporting Actress, and Viola Davis, who won Best Actress.
The rest of the Screen Actors Guild Awards were dominated by category favorites. Christopher Plummer kicked off the night with another win to add his impressive amount of gold for his role in "Beginners." The legendary actor expressed his job satisfaction by stating, "I can't tell you what fun I've had being a member of the world's second oldest profession."
A mild shock came in the Best Actor category for film, when French actor Jean Dujardin edged out George Clooney for his role in the awards favorite "The Artist." The silent ode to the golden era of filmmaking had been a favorite for the evening's biggest categories, but huge wins from "The Help" stole the thunder from the Oscar favorite.
Past winners in the TV categories took the stage at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium as repeat winners. Betty White seemed more confused than anyone when she won the award for Best Actress in a comedy series for the second year in a row. The cast of "Modern Family" stormed the stage with a painfully pre-rehearsed acceptance speech for Best Comedy Series, and Steve Buscemi took to the mic twice for wins in the Best Actor in a Drama Series and Best Drama series categories for "Boardwalk Empire."
Other winners in the television categories included Alec Baldwin for "30 Rock" and Jessica Lange for "American Horror Story." Kate Winslet and Paul Giamatti won their respective categories for actors in a TV movie or miniseries.

<P>Hip-hop lost a rap icon when <a href="/news/articles/1674003/heavy-d-dead.jhtml">Heavy D died</a> Tuesday afternoon (November 8) at age 44, and the music industry is clearly mourning the loss. A string of stars, including <a href="/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>, <a href="/music/artist/timbaland/artist.jhtml">Timbaland</a> and <a href="/music/artist/minaj__nicki/artist.jhtml">Nicki Minaj</a>, have shared their memories of the late MC on Twitter. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:709301.id:1674015" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Usher offered his sympathy to the family of the Jamaican-born rap heavyweight, <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/UsherRaymondIV/status/134038937709707264" target="_blank">tweeting</a>, "This is too heavy, I can't believe it. HEAVY D was just here. Truly gone too soon. My heart and support goes out to his family. R.I.P HEAVY." Scarlett Johansson Debuts New Man in Manhattan!
Kicking off the morning with a workout session, Scarlett Johansson was spotted out and about in New York City on Saturday (January 28).
The “In Good Company” babe looked to be in good spirits as she strolled hand-in-hand with a new boyfriend, after divorcing Ryan Reynolds back in June 2011.
In real estate news, Scarlett is said to be eyeing new properties in London, England and she’s close to making a purchase.
An insider explained, “Scarlett doesn’t want any awkward run-ins with Ryan and Blake in New York. She was always a little uncomfortable about the fact that Ryan and Blake worked together while she was still married to him. When Scarlett is in New York she keeps a low profile. She wants to give the whole party scene a miss.”
“She’s filming a movie called Under The Skin in Scotland at the moment but she is hoping to meet someone new. She adores British men and would love a place and a man in London. She is not making London her permanent base.”

Usher And David Guetta 'Proud' Of 'Without You'

<P>When <a href="/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> and <a href="/music/artist/guetta_david/artist.jhtml">David Guetta</a> hooked up for the French DJ's latest album, <i>Nothing but the Beat,</i> the two superstars created a chart-topping smash, <a href="/news/articles/1670301/usher-david-guetta-without-you.jhtml">"Without You,"</a> that combines Guetta's ear for house beats and Usher's ability to convey a range of emotions with his voice. It's a song that has really stuck with fans of all genres of music. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:713197" width="240" height="211"></div><p> The track — a swirling pop ode to not giving up on love in the face of adversity — struck Usher with its emotional core. "David Guetta is an amazing artist," he told MTV News last week at a <a href="/news/articles/1674705/justin-bieber-usher-advice.jhtml">Pencils of Promise charity event</a>. "We talked for many years about working together, and we found a record that was incredible." Usher said it was a song that resonated with him personally. "I think the world wanted a record like that. That [song] really spoke to the journey that I've actually been on in the last three years," he said. "Traveling all around the world, music sounds different. The LP dropped earlier this year and also includes <a href="/news/articles/1674756/american-music-awards-nicki-minaj-david-guetta.jhtml">Nicki Minaj, who performed with Guetta at the AMAs</a>. "It's one of my favorite songs," he said. "It's just, I'm a DJ, so I want to make people dance always, but I also want to give emotions.
